Funding Sources

CHIPS is funded by a variety of sources. To ensure we continue to run the full range of playschemes and support services, CHIPS needs to supplement the money it receives from local councils with active fundraising. CHIPS therefore relies heavily on the kind generosity of individual supporters, businesses and fundraisers.

CHIPS have service contracts with the following Councils:

  • East Herts District Council
  • Herts County Council (via CSF)
  • Broxbourne District Council

Children in Need have awarded a 3 year grant to CHIPS that is currently supporting the Bishops Stortford' Saturday Club.

CHIPS would like to express its grateful thanks to the following supporters:

  • Freemasons
  • The National Lottery
  • Rotary Clubs
  • The Society of Drunken Golfers
  • National Federation of Demolition Contractors
  • ISL
  • John Lewis
  • Stansted Airport
  • Herts Community Foundation
  • Private Businesses
  • The Parents, Staff and Volunteer who tirelessly fundraise for CHIPS
  • The local Schools and Clubs who support CHIPS with venues, equipment and support

CHIPS also receive fees and donations from the parents and carers of children who attend the playschemes and can afford to give. For parents who cannot afford our modest fees, we offer a discounted or free place to their children. CHIPS is determined that nothing should prevent a child with special needs from playing with other children.
